Question

Three identical metal plates with large surface area are kept parallel to each other. The leftmost plate is given a charge Q and the rightmost plate a charge -2Q and the middle one remains neutral. Find the charge appearing on the outer surface of the rightmost plate.

Solution

their are three identical plates with large surface kept parrallel to each other ,since the leftmost has a charge of =+Q so the left part of the nuetral plate will get ionized with _ Q and right side will be + Q chagred ,so the electric line of forces moves from + (positive ) side to negetive side of the rightmost plate therefore due to positive +Q charge of nuetral plate the outer part of right most plate will get ionized by +Q charge
therefore the charge on the outermost part of the rightmost plate will be +Q
