Three metals $X, Y, Z$ have standard electrode potential values of 0.34 V, 1.2 V and -0.8 V respectively. Comment on their relative tendencies to undergo the respective electrode reactions. How do you account for that?

$Y$ gains electrons and gets reduced with both $X$ and $Z$ so it has the negative electrode potential while $X, Z$ got oxidized by gaining the electrons so they have positive values of electrode potential.
