Three pipes A, B and C can fill a cistern in 10 h, 12 h and 15 h respectively. First A was opened, After 1 hour B was opened, and after 2 hours from the start of A, C also opened. Find the time in which the cistern was just fill.

The correct option is A 4 hours 52 min.
Let it take x hours to fill the tank by all the three pipes.

Then work done by {A in x hours + B in (x - 1) hours + C in (x - 2) hours} = 1

x10+(x1)12+(x2)15=1

6x+5(x1)+4(x2)=60

15x13=6015x=73

x=7315=41315=4hours+1315×60min =4hours52min.

The time in which the cistern was just filled is =4hours52min.
