Question

Three resistors each having same resistance are connected in parallel. their equivalent resistance is 1Ω if they are connected in series, find the equivalent resistance.

Open in App
Solution

The formula for parallel combination is :
1R(final)=1R1+1R2+1R3 +……
So if you substitute values , 1Ω =1R1+1R1+1R1=3R1 .
Solving R1 = 3 Ω.
If we connect all three Resistances,
in series, 3+3+3 = 9 Ω.
