Tinu is younger than Pinky by three years. The product of their ages is 180. Find age of Tinu.

Let the ages of Tinu and Pinky be $t$ and $p$
According to the given condition,

$\therefore p-t=3$

$\therefore p=t+3$.......(1)
$pt=180$........(2)

Therefore, substituting value of $p$ in equation (2),

$\therefore t(t+3)=180$
$t^2+3t=180$
$t^2+3t-180=0$
$t^2+15t-12t-180=0$
$(t+15)(t-12)=0$
$t=-15,12$

Age cannot be negative.

Therefore value of $t$ is $12$.

Hence, age of Tinu is $12$ yearsand that of Pinky is $p=t+3=15$ years
