To an astronaut, why does the sky appear dark instead of blue?

Open in App
Solution

If the earth had no atmosphere, there would not have been any scattering of light. Then, the sky would have looked dark. In space, there is no atmosphere. Hence, a scattering of light is not possible i.e. the sky will look dark instead of blue.
