Biodegradable wastes are broken down by microorganisms and can also contribute to soil fertility. Therefore they could be used in vermicomposts and can be utilised as manure.
But, non-biodegradable wastes are harmful for the soil. They have to be segregated and those recyclable have to be recycled.
