Question

To neutralize completely 20 mL of 0.1molar aqueous of H3PO4,what volume of 0.1M KOH solution will be required?

Open in App
Solution

-molarity of acid, Ma=0.1

volume of acid, Va =20mL

-molarity of base=0.1

volume of base=?

MaVa=MbVb

Vb=(MaVa)/Mb
=(0.1×20)/0.1
=20 mL

therefore, 20 mL of 0.1molar KOH is required.
