To start a business, Raju invested ₹ 20000, Ravi invested ₹ 30000 and Surya invested ₹ 40000. They made a total profit of ₹ 450 and decided to divide it in the ratio of their investments. How much money did Ravi get?
₹ 270
Given: Raju invested ₹ 20000, Ravi invested ₹ 30000 and Surya invested ₹ 40000.
Now the ratio of their investments = 20000: 30000: 40000
= 2: 3: 4
∴ Now let the profit they made be 2x, 3x, 4x
∵ The total profit is ₹ 450
⇒ 2x+3x+4x = 450
⇒ 9x = 450
⇒ x = 90
∴ Money that Ravi got = 3x
= 3×90
= ₹ 270
