Solution

Male gametes:

  • The sperm is the male reproductive cell produced in the testes.
  • It has to pass through a series of structures from the testes in order to be ejaculated.

Path of sperm in male reproductive system:

  • The sperm's journey begins in the testis. Sperm develops as tiny round cells in seminiferous tubules or testicles.
  • Then it is passed through an efferent tubule a passage for premature sperms. Hormones from testicles and pituitary glands help the sperm to mature.
  • They further travel to the epididymis and develop for several weeks.
  • Then it migrates to vas deferens.
  • Then travels to the seminal gland to get nourished by seminal fluid.
  • It travels to the prostate gland and is mixed with prostate fluids.
  • It then passes through the urethra before ejaculation.
  • The fluid contains nutrients that protect the sperm cells during their journey.
