Question

Traveling at an acceleration of 2ms2 , the velocity of the bus changes from 10ms to 24ms . For how long does it travel?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1:- Given data,

Acceleration (a) = 2ms2

Initial velocity (u) = 10ms

Final velocity (v) = 24ms

Step 2:- Formula,

acceleration=(finalvelocity-initialvelocity)timea=(v-u)t

Step 3:- To find time for travel,

a=(v-u)t2=(24-10)tt=142t=7seconds

Thus, the time required by the bus to change its velocity is 7seconds.
