Twice a number increase by 5 is the same as 3 times the number decreased by 8, find the number

Solution

Let the no. be x
$=> (2 \times x) + 5 = (3 \times x) - 8$
$=> 2 x + 5 = 3 x - 8$
$=> 2 x - 3 x = - 8 - 5$
$∴ x = 13$
