The correct option is D 1.2 m
According to conservation of momentum
m1v1+m2v2=(m1+m2)v,
where v is common velocity of the two
bodies
m1=0.1kg,m2=0.4kg
v1=1m/s,v2=0.1m/s
0.1×1+0.4×(0.1)=(0.1+0.4)v
or, 0.10.04=0.5v
v=0.060.5=0.12m/s
Hence, distance covered =0.12×10=1.2m
