The correct option is A 20miles
On connecting the final position of both the cars, we get two right angled triangles and the length of line represents the distance between them.

Distance = Sum of hypotenuse of both triangles
Both triangles are congruent and sides equal to 8 and 6 respectively.

Distance between the two cars =282+62=20 miles
