Given two metal plates with say $Q_{1} = 10 μ C & Q_{2} = - 4 μ C$

Charge on outermost surfaces
$= \frac{q_{t o t a l}}{t} = \frac{(10 - 4) μ C}{2} = 3 μ C$
Hence, charges are as shown below
