Two solutions with the same osmolarity are known as an isotonic solution. Isotonic solutions have same solute concentration. No osmosis takes place when two isotonic solutions come in contact with each other.
A hypertonic solution has a lesser concentration of solvent molecules than the fluid inside the cell so the solvent molecules are forced outside the cell from the region of higher concentration to the lower concentration by the process of exosmosis.
