Solution

The correct option is C 1275 μC, 2125 μC
The common potential of spheres after connection will be,

V=C1V1+C2V2C1+C2

V=(3)(300)+(5)(500)3+5=900+25008

V=34008=425 Volts

Therefore, final charge on the sphere is

q1=C1V

q1=(3 μF)(425 Volt)

q1=1275 μC

Similarly,
q2=C2V

q2=(5 μF)(425 Volt)

q2=2125 μC

Hence, option (c) is correct.

Why this question ?Tip: Always remember that charges willonly get redistributed after the conductorsare connected. The net charge of thesystem is constant. Hence, total initialcharge & final charge on system will be equal
