Two heads

Open in App
Solution

If two unbiased coins are tossed simultaneously, we obtain any one of the following as an outcome.
HH,HT,TH,TT
Total number of elementary events, n(S)=4
Two heads are obtained if the elementary event HH occurs.
Favourable number of elementary events, n(E)=1.

Probability of an event, P(E)=n(E)n(S)=14
Hence, required probability is 14.
