Two zinc rods are placed in contact with dilute H2SO4 and conc.H2SO4 in two separate containers A and B. The characteristic gases evolved in the containers are respectively :
A
the gas in container 'A' turns K2Cr2O7 green and the gas in container 'B' turns lead acetate black

Solution
The correct option is BA→ Inflammable gas, B→ Turns K2Cr2O7 green Dil. sulphuric acid reacts with zinc to give zinc sulphate and hydrogen gas. Hydrogen is inflammable and burns with a pop sound when a flame is brought near it.
Zn+dil.H2SO4→ZnSO4+H2
When conc. sulphuric acid reacts with zinc, zinc sulphate, sulphur dioxide and water are formed. Sulphur dioxide turns potassium chromate into green.
