The correct option is B C3 plants will show an increase in productivity
The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere lies between 0.03%and 0.04%. When the concentration increases up to 0.05% it causes an increase in CO2 fixation rates, beyond 0.05% it would damage the plants if continued over a longer period of time. C3 plants are those which exhibit the C3 pathway (Calvin cycle) during the dark reaction of photosynthesis where the first visible product is 3-phosphoglycerate, which contains 3 carbon atoms. In these plants, with an increase in the CO2 fixation rate, the rate of photosynthesis increases. However, saturation in such plants is seen beyond 450 ppm. So when the concentration of CO2 increases up to 420 ppm it leads to an increase in productivity.
