Unleaded petrol?must be used with catalytic converters as presence of lead in the petrol inactivates the catalyst. Why ??

Unleaded petrol is used in catalytic converter because if lead is present (in case of leaded petrol) it would inactivate the the catalysts such as platinum, palladium and rhodium which are present in the catalytic converter.
