Urine is slightly thicker in summer than in winter. Why?

Open in App
Solution

As we know that summer is usually the hottest season and due to more perspiration and there is a lot of water loss from the body as a result kidney absorbs more water order to maintain a water balance in the body. This leads to the production of concentrated urine.
As in the case of the winter, there is no excess caused due to perspiration or sweating and Kidneys do not absorb water and thus urine is dilute.
