(a) Chromium (Z=24) contains five electrons in 3d subshell.
(b) Magnesium (Z=12), an alkaline earth metal, can readily lose two electrons to form Mg2+.
(c) Oxygen (Z=8) gains 2 electrons to form O2.
(d) Halogens (goup 17) contains metal (iodine), non metals (F,Cl and Br), liquid bromine and gases.
