We get the smallest number by putting the smallest digit at the ten thousands place and repeating it at the thousands place.

Here, the smallest digit is zero but we can't repeat it at ten thousand and thousands place as it will form a 3-digit number. So we will repeat it in the thousands and hundreds place.

Therefore, the smallest 5-digit number is 50089.

Similarly, the greatest number is obtained by putting the greatest digit at the ten thousands place and repeating it at the thousands place.

Therefore, the greatest 5-digit number is 99850.
