(v) 2x-y3+3x-2y=3; 4x-3y+5x-4y4=1

Open in App
Solution

2x-y3+3x-2y=32x-y+9x-6y=9 11x-7y=9 ...(i) 4x-3y+5x-4y4=1 16x-12y+5x-4y=4 21x-16y=4 ...(ii) Multiplying eq (i) by 16 and eq (ii) by7, we get: 176x-112y=144 ...(iii)147x-112y= 28 ...(iv) Subtracting eq (iv) from (iii), we get: 176x-112y=144 147x-112y= 28 - + - 29x = 116x=4Substituting x=4 in (i), we get: 11×4-7y=9 44-7y=9y=5Hence, x=4, y=5 is the solution of the given equations.
