Hint Excess heat irreversibly changes the secondary and tertiary structure of the enzyme. This means that its specific shape will be changed and that the amino acids normally located close to each other in the functional active site will no longer be in such a position. Therefore the active site will be non-functional. Normally enzyme conformation is easily disrupted by high temperatures.
