Dear Student,
The veins are the blood vessels that carry deoxygenated blood from all parts of the body back to the heart.
The veins carry carbon dioxide rich blood to the right side of the heart.
Superior and inferior vena cava carry deoxygenated blood from the upper and lower regions of the body respectively and supply the deoxygenated blood to the right auricle of the heart. The right auricle contracts and passes the deoxygenated blood to the right ventricle through the auriculo-ventricular aperture (tricuspid valve).
Note: Vena cava is the vein that carries deoxygenated blood from the body to the heart. There are superior and inferior vena cava. Superior vena cava brings the deoxygenated blood from the upper part of the body whereas inferior vena cava brings deoxygenated blood from the lower part of the body.
