Vessels are only found in xylem of angiosperm but exceptionally it is also present in some Gymnosperms like Ephedra, Gnetum and Welwitschia. Vessels are absent in some Angiospermic plants such as Dracaena, Yucca, Dazinaria, Drimys. There are some angiosperm families in which vesselless angiosperms are included. e.g. Winteraceae, tetracentraceae and trochodendraceae.
