Solution

Let vijay invest Rs.x at 11% per annum, and Rs50,000x at 9% per annum.

Interest on Rs.x at 11% p.a=Rs.x×11100

Interest on Rs.50,000x at 9% p.a=Rs.(50,000x)×9100

Total interest=Rs.5400

x×11100+(50,000x)×9100=5400

11x+4,50,0009x=5,40,000

2x=5,40,0004,50,000=90,000

x=90,0002=45,000

Vijay invested Rs.45,000 at 11% p.a and (50,00045,000)=Rs.5000 at 9% p.a
