Solution

The correct option is D 10
Molecular weight of washing soda is 286 g/mol and of CaCO3 is 100 g/mol.
CaSO4+Na2CO3CaCO3+Na2SO4
0.0286 g Na2CO3.10H2O=0.02862862×103=0.2 milliequivalents
0.2 milliequivalents of Na2CO3=0.22 mmol of CaCO3 in 1 L
=(0.1×103)×100 g in 103 mL =0.01 g in 103 mL
ppm =0.01×106103=10
Hence, the hardness of CaCO3 in ppm is 10 ppm.
