100 hrs.


Length of cross section of pipe = 0.2 m
Breadth of cross section of pipe = 0.15 m

Area of cross section = 0.2 x 0.15 = 0.03 m2
Speed of water = 15 km/h = 15000 m/h
Volume of water flown in 1 h = 0.03 x 15000 = 450 m3

Dimensions of the water tank = 150 x 100

Volume of water for a depth of 3 m = 150 x 100 x 3 = 45000 m3

Time taken to fill the tank to a depth of 3 m = 45000450 = 100 hrs.
