Omnivorous animals:

  1. Animals that can derive their nutrition from both plant and animal sources are called omnivores.
  2. Humans derive their nutrients from both plants and animals.
  3. Therefore, the plants and animals both act as the food sources and hence humans are called omnivores. ​
  4. Humans take the nutrients from both sources because humans have the ability to digest the food from both sources.
