The important components of blood are Plasma and blood cells. The plasma constitutes 54 - 55 % of total volume of blood and the blood cells (RBCs, WBCs, platelets) constitute 45% of the total volume of the blood. The count of blood cells may vary from person to person. Among these blood cells RBCs are most abundant and platelets constitute a tiny percentage of blood volume (0.17%). Thus actual range may vary i.e RBCs 43-44 %, WBcs 0.7-1 % and platelets 0.10- 0.3 %.
Also platelets are the fragments of the bone marrow cells and their life span is 9- 10 days, so their percentage keeps on changing.
