Question

What acceleration is produced by a force of 10N acting on a body of mass 200kg?

Open in App
Solution

Step 01: Given data

Given the mass of the body (m)=200kg
Force acting on the body (F)=10N
Let acceleration of the body
Step 02: Calculation of acceleration

Using Newton's second law we get-
F=maF=Forcem=massa=acceleration
Substituting the value of mass and force we get-
10N=(200kg)×(ams-2)a=10N200kga=0.05ms-2

Hence the acceleration of the body is 0.05ms-2.
