Endocrine glands:

  1. Endocrine glands are ductless glands which produces hormones in the body.
  2. Endocrine glands release hormone into blood stream to reach a particular body part called target site.
  3. The target site respond to the hormones.
  4. Endocrine glands in animals are the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland, the pineal gland, the thyroid, the parathyroid, the thymus, the pancreas.
  5. Endocrine system is responsible for chemical coordination in the body.
  6. Numerous involuntary physiological activities are under the control of the endocrine system.
