Solution

Stone fruits:

  1. The name "stone fruit" comes from the pit or "stone" in the core of the fruit, which is wrapped in a fleshy outer layer.
  2. Stone fruits, also known as drupes, have thin skins that can be fuzzy or smooth.
  3. They are called so as their seeds are enclosed by large and hard pits (endocarps).
  4. The pits hence are at the center of their juicy and soft flesh.
  5. Examples of stone fruits – Peaches, Apricots, Mangoes, Plums, Cherries, etc.
