Lyophilic sols are solvent loving sols.in such sols,the dispersed phase exibit a definite of finity for the dispersion medium or the solvent.
Ex :- dispersion of starch,gum and protien in water.

Lyopholic sols are those in which the dispersed phase has no attraction for the disperssion medium.
Ex:- dispersion of gold, iron and sulphur in water.
