Bronchitis:

  1. Bronchitis is a respiratory disorder that is characterised by the inflammation of the bronchi.
  2. It is caused by cigarette smoking and exposure to air pollutants like carbon monoxide.
  3. Symptoms of bronchitis include regular coughing and excessive secretion of mucus.

Asthma:

  1. Asthma is a kind of allergy characterised by spasms of the muscles of the bronchioles.
  2. It is generally caused by the hypersensitivity of bronchioles to the foreign substances present in the air.
  3. Symptoms of asthma include coughing, wheezing, and difficulty in breathing mainly during expiration.

Pneumonia:

  1. Pneumonia is a disease caused by the bacterium Diplococcus pneumonia.
  2. It is characterized by the accumulation of lymph and mucous in the alveoli and bronchioles.
  3. It spreads rapidly from one person to another by various means like contact, water, air, food etc.
