  1. A sensor is a device that monitors and responds to physical input. For instance, the presence of visible light, infrared transmission (IR), and ultraviolet (UV) radiation are detected using a photosensor.
  2. It detects or analyzes a physical attribute as well as records, displays, or responds to it in some particular way.

  3. Sensors are used to measure gauge distance, temperature, detect smoke, regulate pressure, etc.
