Sprouts are the germinating seeds that can be eaten raw or cooked. The sprouts can be prepared from various seeds like chickpea, gram, moong etc.
Sprouts are prepared by soaking the seeds in water overnight. The water is then drained and seeds are kept in wet cotton cloth for another day at dark place. These seeds germinate and produce small seedlings.
These sprouts are rich in various nutrients like proteins, vitamins and thus act as healthy foods.
