1. Stomata are the tiny pores present on the surface of leaves that are surrounded by two kidney-shaped guard cells, these tiny pores are known as stomata.

2. Functions of stomata-

a. Exchange of gases takes place (carbon dioxide from air is taken in and oxygen is released) through stomata.

b.Transpiration takes place through stomata.

c.Guard cells regulate the opening and closing of stomata.
