Marine ecosystems are the largest aquatic ecosystem in the world and they contain high salt content.
The three zones or layers of an ocean ecosystem are:
The aphotic zone: The bottommostregion of perpetual darkness that lies beneath the photic zone and includes most of the ocean waters.
The disphotic zone: The disphotic zone is the layer below the euphotic zone, also referred to as the twilight zone. In this zone, there is enough light for visual predators to see, and even for some photosynthesis.
The euphotic zone: The euphotic zone is the layer closer to the surface that receives enough light for photosynthesis to occur.
