Adolescence:

  1. Adolescence is a period of life when a child reaches reproductive maturity.
  2. It is indicated by a number of changes occurring in the body.
  3. When changes are seen, that stage is known as puberty.
  4. It begins at the age of around 10 and lasts until the age of 19.
  5. The period of adolescence is known as the teenage.

Adolescence undergoes three primary developmental stages of adolescence.

  1. Early adolescence – Occurs between the age of 10 and 13 years.
  2. Middle adolescence – Occurs between the age of 14 and 17 years.
  3. Late adolescence – Occurs between the age of 18 and 19 years. This stage is also called young adulthood.
