What are the advantages of preparing solutions?
In a solution, the solute and solvent may be present in the form of ions or molecules or both. Solutions are obtained for the following reasons:
1.To carry out reactions. For a reaction to take place the reactant molecules must come close together. In solutions the reactions take place faster because reactants are in ionic or molecular form and are close to each other.
2. As a dissolving medium for medicines. Certain medicines can only be administered to patients in a solution form. For example, saline glucose solution is given to patients suffering from dehydration.
