What are the basic effects of heat?

When objects are heated the basic changes are observed in the object.

1. Rise in temperature:- When objects are exposed to heat rise in temperature of the object is observed.
2. Increase in volume:- The process of the expansion of a substance on heating is called thermal expansion.
3. Changes in the state:- When matter gains heat, change in state can also take place. e.g. ice turning into the water when heat is supplied to it.
