What are the different stages of cotton cloth production ?

Dear student,

The fibres of cotton are used for filling mattresses, quilts or pillows.

Following steps are involved in the production of cotton cloth-

1. Ginning- The collection of cotton balls from the field and removal of seeds are involved in this step.
2. Spinning- the yarn of cotton is made in this step. The fibres from a mass of cotton wool are drawn out and twisted. It can also be done by hand.
3. Weaving/Knitting- The yarns are arranged in this step to form the fabric. The activity of arranging yarns is called weaving. The activity in which the piece of cloth is made by using single yarn is called knitting.
