1) Fleshy storage adventitious roots: are of following shapes-
a)Tuberous roots- Impomea batata.
b)Fasciculated fleshy roots: in Dahlia and Asparagus.
c)Palmate roots: In orchids.
d)Nodulose roots: In Turmeric.
e)Moniliform roots: In Portulaca
f)Annulated roots: In Ipecac
2) Mechanical support by adventitious roots:
a)Prop roots: found in the Banyan tree.
b)Stilt roots: found in sugarcane, and maize plants.
c)Clinging/Climbing roots: In Pothos (Moneyplant) and Piper nigrum (Black pepper)
3) Assimilatory adventitious roots: Found in water chestnut.
4) Haustorial or parasitic adventitious roots: found in Cuscuta (Amarbel), citrus plants.
5) Epiphytic/aerial/hygroscopic roots: found in Vanda.
6) Floating Adventitious Roots: found in Jussiaea.
7) Reproductive adventitious roots: found in Dahlia and Sweet potato.
