Types of the ammeter:

Construction based ammeters are of four types, such:

1. Rectifier type - It has been used to measure alternating current and has been found throughout telecommunication circuits.
2. Moving iron - It has been used to measure both alternating and direct current currents.
3. Electro-dynamometer - This gadget is once again employed to measure both currents. Especially tried to compare to other existing equipment, this one has a high level of precision.
4. Permanent moving coil - Direct current being measured with this ammeter. This same ammeter is positioned between the poles of a permanent magnet.

Measurement-based ammeters are of two types, such:

1. AC ammeter - The instrument for measuring the alternating current (AC) flowing through whatever component of such an electric circuit.
2. DC ammeter - It is a device that was used to monitor the amount of DC electricity passing in what seems like a circuit.
