What are the different types of harmonics?

Solution

Harmonics

A wave, as well as a signal whose frequency seems to be whole numbers or figures integral multiple of the frequencies of such identical reference signal as well as the wave, are called harmonics.

Harmonic frequencies are multiples of the fundamental frequency.

  1. If somehow the fundamental frequency is 100hertz, then the greater harmonics are 200hertz,300hertz,400hertz,500hertz, and so on.
  2. If the fundamental frequency is 220hertz, the harmonics are 440hertz,660hertz,880hertz, and so on.

Types of harmonics

There are two types of harmonics as follows:

  1. Odd harmonics: Odd numbers such as 3,5,7, etc, are the odd harmonics.
  2. Even harmonics: Even numbers such as 2,4,6, etc, are the even harmonics.
