Pancreas:

  1. It is a long, flat gland in the upper abdominal that resides behind the stomach.
  2. It releases digestive enzymes as well as hormones that regulate body sugar levels (glucose).
  3. Inflammation of the pancreas known as pancreatitis is a common pancreas disease.
  4. Upper abdominal pain, back pain, sensitivity when touching the belly, fever, high pulse, nausea, and vomiting are all signs and symptoms of pancreas damage.
  5. Diarrhea and weight loss are symptoms of a pancreas that isn't producing enough enzymes to digest food.
